FOREWORD FROM THE THREE CAPTAINS
Dear Members,
The three of us feel hugely honoured to serve as captains of Abergele
Golf club for 2023 and we will endeavour to maintain the high standards
of Past Captains and the membership generally. We are sure, like us,
that you all are looking forward to the new season and everything that
it brings.
The course continues to improve every year and we think that you
would all agree that 2022 saw the course in its best condition for a
number of years, receiving great feedback from the many visitors who
played here. This is due in no short measure to the planning and hard
work of Gareth and his team of greenkeepers who work extremely hard
throughout the year.
However it would be remiss of us not to mention all the other people
who make Abergele Golf Club the success that it is. Our thanks go to
Stuart and Adam in the pro shop, your well stocked shop, high tech
teaching facilities and friendly teaching approach are a major asset to
Abergele Golf Club and is the envy of many other clubs.
Thanks also to Andy and Nicki in the Clubhouse Bistro who always
provide us with top quality food and great menus, Katie and her team
for keeping our thirsts quenched, to the many volunteers who regularly
help out with the gardening around the clubhouse, the halfway house
and with social functions, to Karen and her team in the front office
who keep us organised, to the various club committees, to the match
and handicap officials and to the directors who steer us safely through
sometimes choppy waters.
Whilst 2022 was another financially challenging year for the club, we
would like to thank all our members, old and new, for their continued
support and wish you all good health, friendship and that you enjoy
your golf and the facilities at our fantastic golf club in the year ahead.
Happy golfing to you all.
